Formed in late 1999, Musicians Against Substance Abuse™ is a non-profit organization which came from a long standing dream to help educate the youth of today about the pitfalls of substance abuse. The founder of this program has traveled the United States and abroad for the last several years using music as a medium to attract the attention of today’s youth culture. Music, known as the universal language is a powerful communications tool. It is the common denominator that bridges the gap between speaker and listener. Our goal is to raise the awareness of our audience about the reality of substance abuse, making them aware of the dangers they will encounter if they start using or even experimenting with drugs and alcohol. We want to share a way of life that does not include drugs and alcohol and to let them know that they can do anything they put their mind to do… they can succeed! We deal with young people on a daily basis who come from all walks of life. They have real issues in their life and are simply looking for acceptance and love. Unfortunately, when they don’t find what they are looking for, many times they turn to the wrong things to help fulfill the emptiness they feel inside. Since our beginning, we have had the privilege of seeing thousands of young men and women make a conscious decision to stay away from drugs and alcohol, to remain pure and to focus on getting a good education and becoming a productive member of society. |
